Why I can’t ditch Windows…..yet

Here is a list of reasons why I cannot get rid of Windows entirely:

• I use a Sony ICD-P110 digital voice recorder to record lectures and things. There is no Linux driver for it nor can the file formats be read by Linux. It is possible to convert the internal file formats to .wav files but you can only do that using the supplied Windows software.
• I use a Nokia 6630 mobile phone. Again, drivers and software are, AFAIK, only available on Windows.
• I’ve invested a lot of time in learning to use Paintshop Pro and Photoshop (and a lot of money in the case of the latter). I have no wish to waste that investment by learning another graphic package such as GIMP.
• I have a JVC HD Camcorder, what platform do you think the supplied editing and DVD burning software runs on?
